The round of the lake

Leaving the hotel and turning left you go across the Neohori village which is the biggest village of the lake. During the route, after Belokomyti, by making a route detour you can visit the Monastery of Panagia Pelekiti, a unique monument of beauty and interest, rock-cut at 1400 meters altitude.

Returning to the route and continuing towards the Plastiras dam you can drive up to the observatory (dirt road) from where you will be able to admire the panoramic view of the lake. After that, you will meet the dam, which is a sagittal construction of 83meters high and 200meters long. Here, the contrast of the sharp ravine of the high and the dizziness and of the calm waters serenity excites the visitor.

From the dam you continue towards Mouha where you can stop for a tsipouro in the small taverns over there. In a while, after Kastania, which is famous for the older people from the TV series entitled "Methoriakos Stathmos", you can reach Lampero where you can stop for coffee or food, having the marvelous view of the Agrafa mountain range and of the lake right in front of your feet.

You continue and you reach at Koronis Monastery, the jewel of the region, built on the 16th century like a castle supervising the plain of Thessaly.

Following the road towards Mesenikola, the route will compensates you by its stunning beauty. At Morfovouni, where Nikolaos Plastiras was born, you can visit the homonym museum.

In a while, you will reach the North side of the lake and you will meet the Mr. Zampetas' horses for trying your skills at horseback riding.

After that, in the village Kalyvia Pezoulas and close to the Plaz Pezoulas for those who adore the adventure there are mountain bikes and hydrobikes that you can rent them and by crossing the suggested routes you will be able to feel closer to the nature.

A little bit higher is Neraida, a prewar resort for the locals, with a wonderful view of the lake.
